| Notes: | Special Invitation for International Students from Missoula Cultural Council: A note from the Special Events Coordinator of Missoula Cultural Council, Sara Bruya: “Welcome to Missoula! We’d like to invite you to be part of Missoula’s celebration of the New Year on December 31, 2008. Our community celebrates the end of the year with a festival of the arts called First NightÒ Missoula. It is an alcohol-free, public festival that marks the passage from the old year to the new with art, ritual and festivity. This year is our 15th Anniversary and we have over 90 artists scheduled to perform in venues all over downtown Missoula and the University on New Year’s Eve. To learn more, visit www.firstnightmissoula.org . There are several ways international students can participate, but today I’d like to tell you about one whose deadline is approaching soon: Create a Performance or Presentation (DEADLINE for proposals: September 30, 2008) First Night accepts proposals from musicians, theatrical groups, storytellers, craftspeople and anyone wishing to present a performance or interactive activity for kids and adults. Use your imagination! First Night performances and activities are generally 45 minutes in length. If you have an idea, please let us know as soon as possible. We will need your firm commitment by September 30, 2008. Participants receive a First Night button that gives you free admission to all the events on December 31st, 2008 and the honor of sharing with all of Missoula ! If you are interested creating an event for First Night, please contact me at 406-532-3240 or sara@missoulacultural.org, or ask Mona in FSSS for more information at 243-6059. Good luck in your studies this semester! Sincerely, Sara Bruya, Missoula Cultural Council “ |
