Campus Recreation Memberships
The University of Montana offers Campus Recreation Memberships to the University of Montana Community. All Campus Recreation Members must have a valid Griz Card to access Campus Recreation facilities and participate in Campus Recreation Programs.
The University Community includes:
- University of Montana Students
- Employees of the University
- UM Affiliates
- Spouse of UM Employee
- Spouse of UM Student
- Child of UM Employees
- Child of UM Spouse
- UM Alumni (Must be former UM student who has completed at least 12 credits)
- Retired UM Employee
- Retired UM Employee spouses
Montana State Law prohibits the University of Montana from selling community residents, outside of the defined University Community, public memberships to the UM Fitness and Recreation Center.
The Campus Recreation Membership includes access to and use of:
- The Fitness and Recreation Center
- The Grizzly Pool
- Schreiber Gym
- Intramurals
- The Outdoor Program (University Community Members who choose no to sign up for Campus Recreation Memberships may still rent equipment, sign up for trips, and take outdoor classes.)
- Ability to sign up for fitness class and programs offered in the Fitness and Recreation Center. Class will be available outside of the facility for Non-Campus Recreation, University Community Members.
Campus Recreation Membership Fees
***Members must sign up for at least a full semester, no month to month payments can be accepted.
- Full time UM students (7 credits or more) - Campus Rec Fee automatically added to Tuition Bill.
- Part-time UM students (6 credits or less), MSU Nursing Student, College of Technology Student - Campus Rec Fee is optional for these students.
University of Montana Employee - $23 per month
- Includes employees of the University (must be paid by the University.
- Payroll deduction available for those on the UM payroll only.
Spouse of UM Employee - $23 per month
-A UM Employees Spouse is Eligible for a Campus Recreation Membership. Paper work for Affiliate status must be submitted and approved by Human Resources, and a Griz Card obtained before signing up at Campus Recreation.

- A Spouse of UM employee can have membership fees deducted from the UM employee's payroll.
Spouse of UM Student - $23 per month
-A UM Student Spouse is Eligible for a Campus Recreation Membership. Paper work for Affiliate status must be submitted and approved by the UM registrars Office, and a Griz Card obtained before signing up at Campus Recreation

- Spouses of students cannot sign up for payroll deduction.
Children of University Employees - $23 per month
-Children of UM Employees are Eligible for a Campus Recreation Membership. Paper work for Affiliate status must be submitted and approved by Human Resources, and a Griz Card obtained before signing up at Campus Recreation.

- Dependents must be between the ages of 5 and 18. Dependent memberships cannot be sold to anyone under the age of 5 or over the age of 18 under any circumstances.
- Ages 5 to 14, parent or guardian must be a member. Dependant must be under constant parental supervision.
- Children under the age of 15 are not allowed in the weight-room area or on the cardio equipment.
- Ages 15 to 18, parent or guardian does not need to be a member in order to purchase a Campus Rec membership.

Campus Recreation Member Child Guest Pass - $2.00 per day
- Members of Campus Recreation may purchase a child a $2.00 day pass.
- Parent or Guardian must be a member to purchase day pass.
- Ages 5 to 14. Child must be at arms length of guardian member at all times. See Child Policy for restrictions.
- Child memberships cannot be sold to anyone under age of 5 or over the of 18 under any circumstances.
- Must be a former student of The University of Montana who has completed at least 12 credits.
-Must be a current member of Alumni Association (Paid annually or life membership).
- An Affiliate application form must be filled out and approved by the Alumni Association. Once approved, Alum can visit the Griz Card Center to get new Griz Card or have an old one activated. An active Griz Card must be presented at the Fitness and Recreation Center when signing up for a Campus Recreation Membership.

UM Retiree and Spouse - $10 per month
-Must be a retired UM faculty, staff member.
-Spouses of retirees are eligible for Campus Recreation Memberships. Paper work for Affiliate status must be submitted and approved by Human Resources, and a Griz Card obtained before signing up at Campus Recreation.

Employees of University Affiliate Organizations - $23 per month
-Affiliate status must be approved and a Griz Card obtained before signing up for a Campus Recreation Membership.

Campus Recreation Guest Day Pass - $6 per day
- Current Campus Recreation member must sponsor Guest.
- Sponsor, with valid Griz Card in hand, must be present in order to purchase pass.
- Pass good for day of Purchase. Pass no valid at Griz Pool.
- Passes may be purchased in advance, but date of use must be clearly marked in ink by Campus Rec employee.
Campus Recreation Guest Week Pass - $18 per week
- Current Campus Rec member must sponsor Guest.
- Sponsor with valid Griz Card in hand, must be present in order to purchase pass.
- Pass valid for 7 days including date of purchase. Pass not valid at Griz Pool.
- Passes may be purchased in advance, but week use must be clearly marked in ink by Campus Rec employee.
Griz Pool Punch Pass
- Must purchase at Griz Pool, pass only good at the Griz Pool.
- Passes available to General Public and, at a reduced rate to the University Community.
- $50 Punch Pass available to children of Campus Recreation Members.
- Children under the age of 8 must be accompanied by an adult.
