Terms and Definitions
| Virus | Program or piece of code that is loaded onto your computer without your knowledge and runs against your wishes. |
| Spyware | Any software that covertly gathers user information through the user's Internet connection without his or her knowledge, usually for advertising purposes. |
| MAC | MAC Address, A hardware identification number that uniquely identifies your computer on the network. |
| O/S | Operating System, Software that allows the computer to run applications. Example: Windows 98, Windows XP, OSX, Linux |
| Hardware | The Physical components of your computer. Video Card, Processor etc. |
| Software | The compiled computer code that allows your computer to complete tasks. |
