Do I have to install your version of Symantec AntiVirus?

Network security is very important to us, and should be to you, as well.  To this end ALL machines running versions of Microsoft Windows are required to run the version of Symantec AntiVirus provided through IT Central and the DirectConnect Office.  This version is provided free of charge to all residents, so no subscription fee is required.

The DirectConnect site and setup process provides detailed directions on how to uninstall your previous antivirus program as well as installing Symantec AntiVirus.  Installing one antivirus over another is never recommended, and is in fact more likely to break your machine.
