Disability Services for Students is The University of Montana's student affairs office which assures program access to the University by students with disabilities. We coordinate and provide reasonable accommodations, advocate for an accessible and hospitable learning environment, and promote self-determination on the part of the students we serve.

The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Award honors students whose important contributions advance education and employment opportunities for people with disabilities at The University of Montana. The ADA Team recognizes that endeavors toward carrying on the spirit of the ADA require commitment and perseverance through challenges. Awardees continually set a high standard of excellence by honoring the importance of civil rights laws, using best quality practices, and creating innovative solutions that support the vision of The University of Montana to create a completely accessible campus.

Note Taker Stipend Forms due April 30th by 5 p.m.

Are you using note takers as a disability related modification this semester? If so, please remember that all note taker stipend forms are due to Disability Services for Students no later than Monday April 30 by 5:00 p.m. Both the white copy and yellow copy of the note taker stipend form must be return to the Disability Services receptionist in order for your note taker to receive the $30.00 stipend. 

2012-2013 Nordmeier/Tafoya  Memorial Scholarship

Deadline: April 30, 2012
Amount: $1000

Criteria:

1) Having a permanent disability,
2) Attending a Montana College or Technical School,
3) Enrolled for at least 9 semester credits,
4) Enrolled for the 2012-2013 school year,
5) Financial need will also be considered,
6) Narrative of how scholarship will help meet personal and educational goals.

Spring 2012 Finals Week (May 7-11)

Spring 2012 Finals Week is quickly approaching.  The finals week is one of the busiest time in Disability Services by administering over 500 exams that week.   Schedule your exam with Disability Services promptly.

Commencement ceremonies - Saturday, May 12, 2012

Congratulations to those who are graduating this spring!   To assist us in planning for commencement, if you are planning on attending the commencement ceremonies and will be requiring accommodations, please contact your coordinator at your earliest convenience by calling Disability Services at 406-243-2243.  To ensure a fully accessible commencement experience, your input is essential to the process.
