Interpreters/Captioners may be arranged for courses, for course-related activities such as lectures or films, and for other public events through Disability Services for Students. Deaf students typically make their own arrangements for Interpreters/Captioners with Disability Services, but at times faculty members or other University staff may also make such arrangements for events outside of the classroom. The Interpreter/Captioner Fact Sheet discusses the nature of this auxiliary aide, a reasonable accommodation under the Americans with Disabilities Act. It describes both the purpose and limitations of this service.
Each student requesting Interpreter/Captioner services for their course work agree to the terms of this document each academic year.
This form may be downloaded and completed to request the services of an Interpreter/Captioner for any event at the University of Montana. Please follow the instructions and allow for plenty of time. Requests are honored on a "first-come, first-served" basis.
