Topic 1: Meet and Greet

·         Press Box meet and greet in the works

·         Steven was to talk to Gordon at the Press Box

·         Possible first Wednesday in November (7^th) as date from 6-8 pm

·         need good communication with department representatives

·         Kallie and Christina will work on flyer/email

Topic 2: Department Representatives

·         Emails are getting to the representatives

Topic 3: Travel Awards

·         have had many travel award applications turned in

·         will need an additional meeting to decide on the winners

·         officers will go through applications during office hours

Topic 4: Website

·         www.umt.edu/gsa

·         Should have Ann send out an email about the website to let everyone know

·         website is in the process of being updated

Topic 5: Committee reports

·         3 credit subcomm.-worked out survey and waiting on final draft of the survey

·         grad council-review/finalization of math department

Topic 6: Workshops and career fair

·         career services gave a website for dissertation/grant writing workshops

·         flyer is attached for current predoctoral grants and fellowships workshop

·         talked about having a separate grant/dissertation workshop website/link

·         should send an email to departments about recommendations for department workshops

·         combine our career fair with the Big Sky Career Fair on February 20^th

Topic 7: Dean candidates

·         GSA will meet with the candidates for Graduate School Dean

·         decided on optimal times to meet with both candidates

Topic 8: Treasurer

·         Troy Foster is thinking about the position
