Topic 1: Introduction -Meetings will now be held in UC 223 (unless otherwise stated, Fridays at 11:00) -Dean Strobel was welcomed/introduced -introductions around the table
Topic 2: Department Representatives -An email needs to be sent from the Graduate School to department chairs that do not yet have representatives -an email also needs to be sent to remind department representatives to get the email addresses of all program members (and a thank you for serving, and an invitation to meet and greet) -would like to get a list of items that department students would want to “tackle”
Topic 3: Office hours -office hours for officers needs to be kept current on the bulletin board -“variable” is acceptable -task log for office should be kept current -need to add hours used to make sure on track (under or over)
Topic 4: Travel Awards -needs to be more publicized next time (better communication to all departments) -deadline for this semester extended to October 19th -several more emails were sent to all departments about deadline extension and information -department representatives should have a say in travel award decision -$2500 available
Topic 5: ASUM recognition -20 signatures were gathered and turned into ASUM for organization recognition
Topic 6: Website update -Transfer of website complete? -New website up and running -Steve as webmaster or Kelly Spears can update website -newsletter on website was discussed
Topic 7: Committee reports -faculty library comm.-spoke about fiscal year/financial information -3 credit subcomm. -Graduate council
Topic 8: Meet and Greet -a meet and greet needs to be scheduled!
Topic 9: Thesis/dissertation workshops -need to continue to plan workshops -send an email to allison.nordahl@umontana.edu if you would like more information about a predoctoral grant and fellowship workshop starting on October 16th
