Topic 3: Meet and Greet
-went well, but didn't make any money
-should do it earlier in the semester, and with more publication/advertising

Topic 4: Travel Awards
-Mary K. had not yet given a definite date for when to send out the call for Spring travel awards
-it was discussed whether we should wait until after we know how much money we will have, since we cannot yet guarantee the money
-Can also send out the call before we know for sure (with a "disclaimer")

Topic 5: Council reports
-Grad council: school/program reviews are being conducted, there has been a name change in the Anthropology Dept., the humanities program has had some curriculum changes and financial issues, and there is a revived history Ph.D. program
-3 credit council: Steve gave presentations about the applicability to students/programs, the survey is still being revised, but it takes under 10 mins, and is not very applicable to first year students, there is also an issue about not enough seminars for grad students, not enough faculty? and not enough courses? John brought up a possible summary of pros and cons of the 3 credit issue-possibly to be published in the Kaimin?
