Attendees: John Copeland, Christina Van Roekel, Allison Nordahl, Troy Foster, Phil Matteson, Mike Fiebig, Desi Gilbert, Autumn Thompson

Meetings will be held weekly on Wednesdays at 1:15 in UC 215, unless otherwise stated (this can be open to change if there's a better time to accommodate others)

Topic 1: Introduction
       -Everyone was welcomed and introduced!
       -Dean Strobel's attendance was very welcomed

Topic 2: Events
       -Grant writing workshop-John has met with all of the speakers and everything is in order
       -Four speakers will present; science and liberal arts will both be represented
       -GRANT WRITING WORKSHOP will be held Wednesday, February 6th from 6:30-8:30 in UC 326
       -This workshop will be very beneficial to all Graduate Students, so please plan on attending!
       -The GSA Meet and Greet held on January 30th at the Union Club was lots of fun and had a fabulous turnout

Topic 3: Grad Council
        -Grad council meetings are held on Wednesdays at 12PM
        -John has been attending these meetings
        -Faculty gets together with two grad students to discuss grad student issues-curriculum, policy, etc.
        -the Council reports to the Senate
        -If anyone is interested in attending grad council meetings, please let us know: umgsa@umontana.edu
                                                               
Topic 4: Dean Strobel asked Christina to pass the cookies ;)

Topic 5:  3 Credit Subcommittee
        -This is a subcommittee to the Grad Council
        -meets to discuss the very important 3 credit issue

Topic 6:  3 Credit issue
        -GSA needs to take a stand against the 3 credit issue
        -3 credit requirement is not beneficial to students
        -an article is being put together on the 3 credit issue for the Kaiman
        -if anyone has any questions about the facts, please contact us

Topic 7:  Associate Provost for graduate education search committee
        -this committee meets to assist in the search for an Associate Provost
        -please contact us if you are interested in attending these meetings
        -the first meeting is tentatively going to be held on February 11th at 11AM    

Topic 8: GBSA
        -GSA is very interested in collaborating with the Graduate Business School Association

Topic 9: Fundraising
        -Fundraising will probably be done during the second half of the semester
