I. Topic 1: GSA Weekly Meeting No-shows

a) Considered an alternate meeting or subcommittee to accommodate students who have scheduling conflicts with the GSA weekly meeting so that they may be better informed of current issues and events.

II. Topic 2: Grant writing workshop

a) Grant writing workshop tentatively scheduled for spring, so as to not interfere with involvement surrounding the Graduate Initiative

b) One speaker confirmed, with back up if there are scheduling problems.

III. Topic 3: Artini

a) Artini held tonight at MAM.

b) Greater prior notice needed from MAM in order to inform graduate students well enough in advance.

IV. Topic 4: Annual Research Conference

a) ARC committee seeks GSA rep to join the planning committee.

b) GSA will try to seek representation across all graduate students.

c) Event to be held April 11. Start date of planning unknown.

V. Topic 5: Graduate Council Update

a) Interdisciplinary degree discussed regarding how to structure the Master’s and Ph.D. programs

b) UG designation for graduate level classes require more clarity

VI. Topic 6: Travel Awards

a) Cannot accept applications or post awards until allocations of funds has been verified.

b) Cayla Jo proposed a change to travel deadline to give GSA officers one week instead of one weekend to review applications and offer rewards.
