I.            Topic 1: Travel Awards
a)    Forty-one graduate students submitted applications for travel awards. Once the applications are processed, the lottery for the six potential awards  at $500 each will take place. Notifications will be sent to applicants regarding the results of the lottery early next week. 
b)    In the future, turn-around time from when the email is sent to all students from the Graduate School to the application deadline should be roughly two weeks. If the Graduate School does not forward the email request for applications right away, a deadline extension will be considered.
 
II.            Topic 2: Big Sky Documentary Film Festival Volunteer Positions
a)    Volunteers for the Big Sky Documentary Film Festival were turned away due to all of the spots being full.
b)    At a later point, volunteer positions opened up, which permitted more volunteer opportunities.
c)     Current status on available volunteer opportunities unknown.
 
III.            Topic 3: Continuous Registration Policy for Graduate Students (3-credit rule)
a)    Associate provost for Graduate Education Perry Brown will be at next week’s meeting to discuss any remaining concerns regarding the Continuous Registration Policy for Graduate Students.
b)    Officers and Representatives are encouraged to share information with students and faculty in their department to explore any remaining concerns, and invite them to next week’s meeting to talk directly with Perry Brown.
 
IV.            Topic 4: Spring Budgeting
a)    Any GSA Officers and Representatives that can attend any part of the ASUM Spring Budgeting are highly encouraged to do so.
b)    Additional materials will be used to supplement the application during these meeting times, specifically in regards to Graduate Student fees into ASUM, and the relational return.
c)     Additional funds for food items and Officer compensation will also be added to the line items.
d)    Lobbying Feb. 23-26
e)    Formal lobbying, will announce the 10 min presentation time when known
f)      Informal lobbying, MANDATORY, 9-10 pm each day of lobbying
 
V.            Topic 5: Next Meet and Greet Social Networking Event
a)    To be held March 5
b)    Location to be decided next week
 
VI.            Topic 6: Spring Semester Timeline
a)    February: Budget requests and Lobbying, Welcome postcard for next years graduate students
b)    March: Meet and Greet, Organize campus clothing t-shirt fundraiser, run advertisement to recruit next years officers
c)     April: National Graduate & Professional Student Appreciation Week, Interview officer applicants
d)    May: End of semester social networking event, Officer transition
