Topic 1: St. Patrick's Day Meet & Greet at The Pressbox
-Great turnout!
-at least 50 people
-made some money!

Topic 2: ASUM President
-President candidate, Ali and his running mate-Peter attended the meeting and spoke about their campaign
-they hope to focus on issues such as: Undergrad advising, and the University as a society
-they hope to reach more Grad. students
-be on the lookout for an email (maybe this Wednesday?) about voting for ASUM pres. and vice pres. (Ali and Peter!)

Topic 3: 3 credit issue
-the subcomm. has ended
-the proposal has been submitted to the provost
-the data does not support the 3 credits, but the provost has to decide and consult with Pres.
-3 choices were submitted: allow fewer than 3 credits, 3 credit instituted with process of appeal, or process of appeal later so M. student could take one semester of fewer than 3 credits, and PH.D student could take 2 semesters of fewer than three, and then appeal if need more
-the survey response was huge, and overwhelmingly against 3 credits

Topic 4: Officer recruitment
-today, Monday, was the deadline for officer applications: if you want to be a GSA officer for the upcoming year, respond to this email!
-you should have received emails, and 2 ads were placed in the Kaimin
-the Grad. School is sending out GSA info note cards to potential/accepted students
-GSA officer applicants will be interviewed this week (R and F)
-more info to come-please get in touch with us if you would like to be considered for an officer position

Topic 5: Summer travel awards
-$2000 to be awarded
-conference must be between June 1 and Aug 31
-cannot apply if received award for winter or fall
-10 awards of $200
-extended deadline?

Topic 6: Travel awards deadlines
-Spring: end of Feb./ end of March
-Fall: Nov 15
-?
-adjustments need to be made
