American Association of University Women (AAUW) Educational Foundation — Grant and fellowship programs for women at the graduate level. Deadlines vary depending upon program.

American Psychological Association Minority Fellowship Program

American Indian Graduate Center — Application deadlines: early June for fall semester, early March for summer term.

Bell Labs Cooperative Research Fellowship Program for Minorities — Fellowships awarded to under-represented minority graduate students working toward doctroal degrees in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Communication Science, Compjuter Science/Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Information Science, Materials Science, Mathematics, Operations Research, Physics, and Statistics. Application deadline: mid-December.

Bell Labs Graduate Research Program for Women — Provides financial support for outstanding women students who are pursuing full-time doctoral studies in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Communication Science, Computer Science/Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Information Science, Materials Science, Mathematics, Operations Research, Physics, and Statistics. Application deadline: mid-December.

Gates Millennium Scholars
Nomination deadline: mid-March. The Foundation seeks to increase the number of African-Americans, American Indians/Alaska Natives, Asian Pacific Americans, and Hispanic Americans enrolling in and completing undergraduate and graduate degree programs. Individuals with academic promise, unmet financial need and demonstrated leadership are eligible for renewable awards. At the graduate level, individuals applying to or already enrolled in science (including life sciences, physical sciences and computer science), mathematics, engineering, education or library science degree programs are eligible.

Women’s Research and Education Institute (WREI) Congressional Fellowships
Deadline: mid-June. WREI awards annual fellowships to a select number of graduate students with a proven commitment to equity for women. WREI Fellows gain practical policymaking experience and graduate credit as they work for one academic year as congressional legislative aides in Washington. Fellows receive stipends for tuition and living expenses. WREI strongly recommends that applicants complete at least nine hours of graduate coursework before applying and have a demonstrated interest in research or political activity related to women's social and political status.
