Outstanding Student Leader of the Semester

The Outstanding Student Leader Award provides recognition for those hardworking individuals who strive to make The University of Montana a better place for students to live, learn, and grow.  Based solely on leadership and service to the University, this distinguished award is given to a student who exhibits ethical, creative leadership and promotes a positive campus climate while remaining in good academic standing.  The recipient of the award will be recognized by the Center for Leadership Development and may receive an in-state Tuition Waiver for one semester, depending on eligibility.  (Note: University regulations restrict fee waivers to one per semester, per student).

Sentinel Service Award

The Sentinel Service Award recognizes a student organization that has performed an altruistic, community service activity benefiting The University of Montana or the greater Missoula community.  Thank you to the Office of the President for providing this award.  The award recipient receives $500 stipend for the organization.
   
 
Past award recipients include: American Indian Science and Engineering Society (2005-2006); The Women's Center (2003-2004); Habitat for Humanity, Campus Chapter (2002 -2003); Kappa Alpha Theta (2001-2002); Beta Alpha Phi (2000-2001); Peers Reaching Out (PRO's) (1998-1999); Volunteer Action Services (1997-1998).

Annual Recognition Reception

Each spring, the Center for Leadership Development coordinates a recognition reception for various campus leaders. This annual event recognizes the outstanding contributions of ASUM Senators and Executive Board members; outstanding volunteers through the Office of Civic Engagement; students involved with the Ursa Major leadership program, the Outstanding Student of the Semester award recipients, and the Sentinel Service Award recipient.
