About Ursa Major

Looking for leadership? It all starts here.

The Ursa Major student leadership program provides a group of twenty 1st and 2nd year students the opportunity to learn and practice valuable leadership skills. The program is 3 semesters long, beginning with a new group of students each spring semester. Through the completion of program requirements, students can earn certificates that verify and recognize their achievements in this rewarding leadership program. 

Through the various activities of Ursa Major, students increase their leadership skills in the following areas: 

communication
teamwork
self awareness
creative problem solving
interpersonal collaboration
