Position Title: UC Art Exhibits Coordinator
Unit: University Center Student involvement
Wage Rate: $7.50
Reports to: Molly Collins, Assistant Director, University Center-Student Involvement
Type of Position: Work Study
Hours Per Week: maximum 12
Comments: hours vary; MUST HAVE WORK STUDY
 
General Description: 
The UC Art Exhibits Coordinator is in charge of organizing exhibitions from students, faculty and local artists throughout the UC (except the gallery).  The Coordinator is responsible for sending out semesterly artist calls, notifying artists of selection, installing and removing each exhibition, assisting with the yearly valued works project, and promoting and leading a monthly tour for all exhibits. 
 
Job Specific Learning Outcomes:
The UC Arts Exhibits Coordinator will learn or improve upon her/his abilities to:
  • Develop media campaigns to do a call for artists and monthly tours
  • Properly install and deintstall art exhbits
  • Develop communication skills through various on- and off-campus collaborations
  • Develop organizational skills to track the installation and deinstallation of art exhibits
  • Develop time management skills to effectively manage projects and priorities
 
Criteria and Minimum Qualifications: 
  • Must be enrolled in 6 or more credits and be available for the full academic year
  • Must be able to work independently
  • Must have good verbal and written communication skills
  • Must have good organizational skills
  • Must be a self-starter
  • Must have knowledge about the visual arts  
  • Must have work-study

  • To have related work experience
  • To be innovative and creative
  • To be flexible
