Dr. Teresa BranchWelcome to Student Affairs.  Student Affairs is primarily responsible for managing the student experience outside the classroom.  From admissions and housing, to financial aid and on-campus dining, we provide services and facilities that support students, promote learning, and encourage personal growth.

As Vice President, I oversee the Dean of Students and the eleven Student Affairs departments.  We are here to serve you! If you cannot find what you are looking for, please do not hesitate to contact my office.

Student Affairs Immersion Learning Program (SAIL)

Student Affairs Immersion Learning Program Logo

We are no longer accepting applications for the 2013/2014 SAIL internship. To apply for 2014/2015, please visit the SAIL website in February 2014.

SAIL interns learn more about Student Affairs by spending 12 weeks in four week rotations, and can elect to spend the next semester in an in-depth 16 week internship.

Student Affairs Assessment Council (SAAC)

The Division of Student Affairs is committed to excellence, and to ensure continuous improvement regarding student programs and services, each department submits an annual assessment project. Many Assessment Reports from 2005 to 2011 are now available.

Minority Mentor

The Minority Mentor's job is to mentor and counsel African-American students enrolled at UM, helping them to deal with the non-academic aspects of student life.  Murray Pierce is UM's Minority Mentor.
