Student Affairs Immersion Learning Program

Are you looking for a meaningful career?  A career in which you can make a difference in the lives of other people? A career where you could work at a small liberal arts college, a community college, or a big university? A career where you will be challenged to develop skills in a variety of areas, such as leadership, advising/counseling, administration, or supervision? If so, then you are in the right place, because the field of student affairs provides just such careers.

The Division of Student Affairs at The University of Montana has created a student employment program which will allow individuals to explore career opportunities that exist in the various UM Student Affairs departments.

Designed as an immersion learning program, SAIL will give successful candidates the opportunity to spend a semester in four week rotations in each of four selected Student Affairs departments gaining knowledge of each department’s programs, services and operations.

Based on successful completion of the four rotational experiences, students may then have the option of doing an in-depth semester-long internship in one of those four departments based on student interest and/or departmental needs.

Application Deadline was Friday, May, 8, 2009.
