Issksiniip Project

We are still accepting applications for the Issksiniip Project/Scholarship.  This scholarship is funded through the Blackfeet Community College and is open to members/descendants of all tribal affiliations.  However, it is only available to residents of the State of Montana.

Participation Criteria

To be considered for participation in the project, students must qualify for eligibility under the following guidelines:

  • Active tribal or non-tribal TANF participants and other individuals whose income does not exceed 200 percent of the federal property guidelines (PELL eligible)
  • Identification of at least one healthcare career pathway interested in pursuing and demonstrate ability to present information related to that healthcare field
  • Agree by signature to participate in health professions internship projects
  • Provide a degree plan/life plan which identifies the timeline which would assure completing a certificate and/or degree program within a period of time identified by the college and program faculty
  • A commitment to seek employment after completing their field of study
  • Awarded applicants must complete mandatory criminal background check and random drug testing

Services

The Issksiniip Project will provide participants with support services to ensure successful completion of their academic programs.  Services include but are not limited to:

  • Academic Advising/Counseling
  • Assessment Testing
  • Mentoring
  • Placement Services/Career Guidance
  • Financial Assistance
