ASUM Communications Coordinator - Job Description

The Associated Students of The University of Montana, (ASUM), serves students by advocating, empowering and providing responsible representation.

This position provides marketing and communications vision and support to ASUM. Specific duties include but are not limited to: overseeing internal and external communications, creating and implementing marketing campaigns and plans; preparing and coordinating the distribution of departmental announcements and vacancies; researching and compiling information for marketing purposes; writing press releases; creating and placing advertisements; maintaining and updating ASUM website and online forms, social media sites including Facebook, Twitter and ASUM blog; designing brochures and outreach materials for ASUM and its agencies; supervising and training ASUM student interns; facilitating student group communication and support in the areas of new student orientation, student group informational seminars and dissemination of policy and procedures of UM and ASUM to our student community; serving as the ASUM Senate Secretary, preparing meeting agendas, transcribing and archiving minutes; attending all Senate meetings and providing reports, press releases and relevant documents.

This position requires incumbent to develop: a thorough understanding of ASUM's mission, programs and projects; the ability to execute experiments independently and be a collaborative member of the research group; conduct meetings under the Roberts Rules of Order.

ASUM Sustainability Coordinator - Job Description

The ASUM Sustainability Coordinator is responsible for promoting, developing, and implementing sustainability initiatives and activities at the University of Montana for the campus community. The ASUM Sustainability Coordinator works within the ASUM Sustainability Center, an agency of ASUM. This position will work closely with ASUM as well as the UM Sustainability Coordinator who is housed in Facilities Services; must be a graduate student to qualify.

Compensation:  The ASUM Sustainability Coordinator that is hired for the academic school year will receive an in-state tuition waiver funded by the Office of Administration and Finance at the start of the Fall 2012 academic year as well as $13/hr for an average of 15 hours/week.
