Matthew Fennell is an out-of-state student originally from Raleigh, North Carolina. He is in his fifth year at The University of Montana completing dual degrees in Social and Fine Arts. Hi! My name is Kip Barhaugh and I am from Choteau, Montana! I am excited to serve the students of The University of Montana this year on ASUM! I grew up on a guest ranch outside of Choteau and I am a true Montanan at heart! I am thinking about double majoring in History and Human Biology with a minor in French but I have not declared anything yet. Eventually, I think I want to continue my education in Medical School. Hello everyone, I am really happy to be an ASUM Senator this term. I am an international student from Taiwan, and I've been in the United States for two years starting as a freshman at the University here in Missoula, Montana. I would like to promote the advising program on campus and all the student groups on campus from sports to the international student associations. I am hoping to give more funding to all ASUM groups and to create more opportunities for students on campus to get involved. Ultimately, I want to encourage students to have a fun extra-circular and academic life while here at the University. I love dancing, little kids, and dogs. I am a senior studying political science with a focus on international relations. I am involved on campus on a number of positions including: Press Secretary, Model UN; Secretary, Mortar Board; Events Assistant and University Relations. Off campus, I am an intern for the Tyler Gernant for Congress campaign. Outside of my professional interests, I love biking, fishing, snowboarding, and MISSOULA. I am a second term senator and a senior this year at The University of Montana. I am double majoring in journalism with a print journalism option and political science with an option in international relations and a minor in history. I'm originally from from Havre, MT and I love this state, this university, and taking advantage of all UM has to offer. I am involved in many aspects of campus life. I serve as president of my fraternity, I'm a member of UM Advocates, Mortar Board, Alpha Lambda Delta, Pi Sigma Alpha, the Davidson Honors College, and I work for the Enrollment Services-Admissions office interacting with incoming students. My goal in life has alway been to save the world and I believe that this is truly the best place to start. I urge you to get involved in campus life and start making a difference too.
Kacie Engum is a junior double majoring in Spanish and Economics. She spends a lot of time engaging in community organizing and is involved with Students for Economic and Social Justice. She values cooperation over competition and justice over greed. In her spare time she likes to write poetry, hang out with her dog named Sophie Ann, hike, snowboard and folf. She is your senator if you want representation.
I am proud to be a Montana native, coming from the small town of Havre. I am currently a sophomore at the University and am double majoring in Political Science and Business. Eventually, I plan on attending law school and pursuing a career in law and politics. I absolutely love playing and watching sports, spending time in the outdoors, and hanging out with my friends. I am a very active member of the community and my school, as I have been throughout my entire life. The University of Montana is such an amazing place to get an education, and I am so proud to be able to represent all the students as a member of the Senate.
I am very excited to serve UM students as a representative for ASUM. I am a sophomore majoring in Biology and Environmental Studies. Besides being a senator, I also work as an assitant debate coach at Sentinel High School. I am also Co-President of UM Climate Action Now and an active volunteer with the Women's Resource Center on campus. My primary focus as a Senator is to push the University of Montana towards being more sustainable and socially responsible. I look forward to working with student groups and community members this year.
I'm currently a sophomore studying Political Science, Comparative Politics. I graduated from Billings Skyview in 2008. I ran for ASUM because of the valuable learning experience and also the great opportunity to represent my fellow students here at The University of Montana. I would like to help students become more aware and invloved with the political affairs that involve them as students here. Also, I am concerned about possible tuition prices and am going to work hard to make sure that this University remains affordable to anyone who wants to attend here.
Hi, everybody! I'm Mandi Summers and I'm psyched to serve on ASUM this year! My hometown is Billings, MT, and I graduated from West High. I absolutely love Montana, Missoula, and UM and couldn't imagine being anywhere else (right now). I'm currently undeclared but I am tentatively planning to double major in Political Science and Economics. In my free time, I enjoy laying in the sun, camping, cooking, snowboarding, doing yoga, reading, and seeing live music. Undoubtedly, there are many issues at UM requiring the attention and problem solving skills of the ASUM Senate, and we will work together every step of the way to ensure that we are doing the absolute most with the least money possible.
