Program Description

 

Goals:

  • Encourage Neighborliness
  • Educate students on renter rights
  • Create Programming to curb disturbances
  • Promote Campus Programs

Ambassador duties:

  • Create a list of neighbor names and contact information
  • Distribute and collect a survey about neighborhood interactions
  • Distribute a monthly newsletter with information on being a good neighbor, renter rights, and campus events
  • Organize a neighborhood event (block party, yard sale day, etc)

Qualifications:

  • UM student taking 6+ credits
  • 2.5+ GPA
  • Must reside in the University District, preferably in the areas highlighted on the map below
  • Strong written and verbal skills
  • Must be a people person
  • Demonstrated community involvement, volunteerism, and/or leadership experience

Compensation & Hours: 

 PAID ambassador positions

  • 3 - 5 hours per week
  • Flexible schedule
  • Internship Credit may be available  
  • Hiring will begin again in August 2012kids
