Program Description
Goals:
- Encourage Neighborliness
- Educate students on renter rights
- Create Programming to curb disturbances
- Promote Campus Programs
Ambassador duties:
- Create a list of neighbor names and contact information
- Distribute and collect a survey about neighborhood interactions
- Distribute a monthly newsletter with information on being a good neighbor, renter rights, and campus events
- Organize a neighborhood event (block party, yard sale day, etc)
Qualifications:
- UM student taking 6+ credits
- 2.5+ GPA
- Must reside in the University District, preferably in the areas highlighted on the map below
- Strong written and verbal skills
- Must be a people person
- Demonstrated community involvement, volunteerism, and/or leadership experience
Compensation & Hours:
5 PAID ambassador positions
- 3 - 5 hours per week
- Flexible schedule
- Internship Credit may be available
- Hiring will begin again in August 2012
