The ASUM Spring Budgeting session is a time when our student groups are able to request funding for an operating budget to be used when students request monies to be used during the time period of July 1, 2011 through June 30, 2012. Operating budgets often include funding for printing, supplies, advertising, and entertainment, as well as other items.
After submitting a budget proposal as well as an outline stating specific details about what is being requested under each line item, a member, or members of your group, will present the request to the Senate. This is a time when you can introduce your group to Senate members, outline your request, and let the Senate know where your funding priorities are for the following year. This is the formal period of Spring Budgeting. You will sign up for a time when you submit your budget to ASUM.
Each night after formal lobbying, there is also an informal lobbying period where groups are allowed to come and speak with individual Senators on a more personal level about what their funding concerns are.

Spring Budget Information
January 31, 2013 (Friday): Last day for groups to turn in their recognition form if they did not do so in the Fall Semester. Your group must be recognized before spring budgeting begins to participate. If you are unsure about your recognition status please contact the Administration Office in UC 105, or call 243-2451.
February 4, 2013 (Monday): Mandatory budgeting information session 7-8:30 p.m. UC 326/327. A representative from your student group must attend either Monday or Tuesday night. This will be an early opportunity to sign up for formal lobbying times.

February 6, 2013 (Wednesday): Travel Allocation requests are due. Sports and Music Union student groups include your travel with your Spring Budget.
February 14, 2013 (Thursday): Budget Request Forms are due by 5 p.m. (NO EXCEPTIONS).
February 20-22, 2013 (Wed.-Fri.): Sign up for a formal lobbying time in the ASUM Office and pick up your recommendations.
February 25-28, 2013 (Tues. - Fri.): Formal lobbying sessions 5-10 p.m. UC 326/327.
March 5, 2013 (Tuesday): View your final operating budget. Your budget amount will be posted on the window at UC 105 and also emailed to your group contact person.
