National Student Employment Week

April 7-13, 2013

The National Student Employment Association (NSEA) has declared the second full week of April each year be set aside to recognize the value of student employees. In accordance, President Engstrom has proclaimed this week as National Student Employment Week at The University of Montana.

Please plan to join in the celebration by thanking the students who work in your department. For ideas and suggestions of how you can honor your student workers: "Ways to Celebrate".

UM DEPARTMENTS are celebrating UM student employees in style this year! Below is a list of how UM is honoring these employees. Each student employee will receive a Student Employee punch card from their employing department that will allow them to participate in the following activities and discounts:

Adams Center: Get your card validated to be entered to win a pair of Tickets to the Jeff Dunham Concert.

Campus Recreation: 

• Access to our “Punch Pass” Fitness classes in the Fitness and Recreation Center (FRC) so the students will need their valid Griz Card to gain access.  
• Free bucket of range  balls at the University of Montana Golf Course.  
• $5.00 off any equipment rental or service valued at $5.00 or greater. 

University Center:  

• One hour free game of pool in the UC Game Room.
• One hour free game of table tennis in the UC Game Room. 
• $1 off large popcorn at the UC Theater.

Dining Services: Free coffee refill to Student Emlpoyees with a punch card and their own cup. 

Mansfield Library: Get 50% off prints with your appreciation card*. Color! Black & White! Single Sided! Double Sided! Unlimited quantities! Unlimited visits! All week long! *Excludes copies, art/large format prints, and specialty papers. See desk attendant for pricing and details

Career Services: Get your card validated to be entered to win a $50.00 UMoney gift card.

Admissions: The first 50 student employees to stop by the Admissions Office with their UM Student Employee punch card will receive a special gift. 

Griz Card Center: Students with their punch card can come in and swipe their Griz Card to be entered (into a drawing) to win $25 in UMoney.

Get your Punch Card validated by each participating sponsor and turn in your completed card at The Source located in the University Center by April 12, 2013 at 11:45 AM to be entered to win one of the following prizes:

• Pair of tickets to Jeff Dunham - Adams Center
• $50.00 U-Money Gift Card - Career Services
• $25.00 U-Money Gift Card - Griz Card Center
• $20.00 Bookstore Gift Card - Facilities Services

STUDENT EMPLOYEE OF THE YEAR

Additionally, one deserving UM student worker will be honored as The University of Montana Student Employee of the Year at a reception on Thursday, April 11th. The winning student will receive a plaque and a $500 scholarship. UM's winning student will also be moved forward to the state level. The nomination submission period runs from December to February.
