Description:  Join Josh Mahan, environmental journalist, as he recounts his 1,400-mile adventure retracing the historic journey of John Wesley Powell.  Mahan chronicles what has changed and what has stayed the same along the American West's most talked about waterway.

Description: REEL ROCK 2009 features the world premiere of Progression, the latest release from the state-of-the-art filmmakers at Big UP Productions, as well as the exhilarating new First Ascent series from the innovative producers at Sender Films and Nat Geo Adventure Channel. Also the lineup are the two winning short films from this year's highly competitive REEL ROCK Filmmaking Competition. Description: An outdoor gear sale, open to the General Public and the University Community. Want to sell your old gear? Bring it to the Sale between 7:00am-11:00am. The UM Outdoor Program collects 15% of the sale price. Pickup unsold gear between 5:00pm-7:00pm.  Call 243-2804 for more information.

Teton Gravity Research presents: "Re: Session" - $10.00 in advance, $12.00 day of the show

Description: The award winning producers at Teton Gravity Research (TGR) present their newest 16mm and HD film, "Re: Session." This project takes viewers beyond the traditional ski and snowboard movie into a revolutionary realm of action sports entertainment. Mandela van Eeden presents: "Walkabout Australia: the vast island" - FREE

MandelaWhen: Thursday, November 5 at 7:00pm in McGill Hall 210

Description: Join Montana's only travel talk show host, Mandela van Eeden, on high adventure across Australia via plane, train, Land Rover and camel. An unorthodox approach to the Northern Territory from Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide to Alice Springs and Urulu. Hear Aboriginal stories of the "Dreamtime," the didjeridu, and Australia's history with political prisoners and the infamous Ned Kelly.

Description: See the award winners from the prestigious Banff Festival of Mountain Films in Alberta. These films are brought to you by the UM Outdoor Program and The Trailhead. Price includes admission into film and raffle. Tickets available starting October 15 at Griz-Tix outlets and the Trailhead.




The UM Outdoor Program conducts activities under special permit with the US Forest Service, Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks and the Bureau of Land Management. The UM Outdoor Program is partners with Leave No Trace Center for Outdoor Ethics and a member of the American Canoe Association, Trout Unlimited, The Access Fund and the Professional Ski Instructors of America.
