Swim Lessons

Swim lessons are offered for all ages from 6 months to adult.  Register between 7:00am-7:00pm in person or by phone.  Payment is required at time of registration.  A class with less than three participants is subject to cancellation.  Call the pool at 243-2763 for more information.

Monday-Friday Daytime Lessons

Daytime Lessons include 10 thirty-minute lessons for $48

Evening Parent-Tot Class

Parents or guardians are in pool with their child(ren), ages 6 months to 3 years. Objectives are water orientation and comfort, safety, fun, and quality time with your child.  Session dates are same as the evening lesson sessions:

Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday:  6:05-6:35pm

Class Level Descriptions

The American Red Cross Swimming and Water Safety program combines the best in swim instruction with a strong emphasis on drowning prevention and water safety.  Courses are available for a variety of ages and skill levels to encourage healthy, lifelong recreational habits and to help keep your family safe.

Parent-Tot:  Parents/guardians are in the water with their child(ren).  For ages 6 months to 3 years old.
Level 1:  Must be at least 3 years old. Not yet ready to go underwater, some anxiety to work through.
Level 2:  Prereqs: Must be comfortable going underwater and be able to float on front and back.
Level 3:  Prereqs:  Must have fair knowledge of crawl stroke for 6-10 feet.   Must have an independent front and back float with kick.
Level 4 Beginner:  Prereqs:  Must have an efficient crawl stroke for 15-20 feet.  Knowledge of elementary backstroke is helpful but not essential.  Backstroke for 15-20 feet. Working on stroke and breathing refinement and more endurance.
Level 4 Advanced:  Prereqs:  Must be able to do crawl stroke for 25 feet and have beginning of rotary breathing techniques.  Should have some knowledge of elementary backstroke.  Backcrawl for 25-30 feet.
Level 5:  Prereqs: Must do one width of pool crawl stroke with rotary breathing, elementary backstroke and backstroke.
Level 6:  Prereqs:  Must do two widths crawl stroke, backstroke, elementary backstroke and two widths sidestroke.
