Help Someone Who has Alcohol Poisoning

The only way to "help" someone who has has overdosed by consuming too much alcohol in too short a time: CALL 911 or GO TO THE EMERGENCY ROOM. If they fall under any of the signs of being poisoned and you have ANY question as to whether or not someone may have alcohol poisoning, it IS and emergency so contact 911 immediately. An ambulance bill will always be better than your friend dying.

While You Wait for an Ambulance...

Do NOT Leave the Person Alone!
Stay with the person. Monitor breathing- breaths need to be above 9 breaths per minute and less than 10 seconds in between breaths.

Ensure the Person is on Their Side or Keep Them Sitting Upright.
Try to keep the person sitting up to keep airways clean. If they have passed out, they are non-responsive, or they insist on lying down, turn the person on their side so that if their away will be clear no matter what. If they get sick and vomit, the airways will not be blocked and they will not choke.
