H1N1 Information
April 28, 2009- Human cases of the H1N1 Influenza have been found in the U.S. H1N1 is a respiratory disease of pigs caused by a type A influenza viruses that cause regular outbreaks in pigs.
Normally, it's unusual for people to get H1N1, however infections have and are happening since the virus is contagious- person to person. Therefore please take these preventative measures to help keep yourself from getting ill:
- Wash Your Hands. hand washing with soap and water or an alcohol based cleanser is an excellent way to prevent the spread of the virus from person to person.
- Practice good Cough/Sneeze Etiquette. Make certain that you cover your mouth wen you cough or sneeze with your upper arm/interior elbow or a tissue. Dispose of the tissues properly in waste containers to avoid spreading the virus.
- Get Sleep. Manage Stress. Drink Fluids. Eat Good Food. Be Active. All of these are good for your general health and will help your immune system fight potential infection.
