Individual Support, Advocacy, Workshops, and Support Groups

Individual Support and Advocacy

Trained student advocates are available 24-hours a day when the University is in session to provide peer counseling, information and referrals to survivors of sexual and relationship violence. Advocacy may include providing accurate information about emergency, medical, legal and academic options available to survivors. Alternatively, advocates may accompany survivors when accessing medical, legal or other services.

Workshops and Trainings

Trainings are available to University students, staff, faculty and Resident Assistants on a variety of issues including assisting and responding to survivors of sexual and relationship violence and more. Training for SARC' advocates begins each Fall semester.

Classroom and dorm presentations are available on a variety of topics relating to SARC's mission.  Call Amee Schwitters at 243-6559 to schedule a presentation.

Support Groups

Support groups are available for survivors of acquaintance rape, stranger rape, and attempted rape - recent or in the past. New groups begin each semester and meet weekly. Call 243-5244 for more info on groups!
