A: You must be enrolled for 6 or more credits at the The University of Montana (Missoula campuses). You must present a picture ID (Griz Card, drivers license, or valid passport) and a Social Security Card. International students have the following additional requirements: a Social Security Card, an I-20 form, a valid passport, and a letter from the Office of Foreign Student Services.
A: Yes. You can work in multiple operations if necessary to accommodate the schedule and amount of hours you want.
A: Generally no, unless you sub or there is a special event in your unit. Catering and concessions staff are scheduled on an as-needed event-driven basis.
A: Dining Services utilizes the "Student Sub Program". If you need a substitute there is a form you fill out in advance and post on the sub board. It is your responsibility to find a sub for your shift. Typically, a coworker looking for extra hours will "sub" for you. For special circumstances, the Full-time Unit Manager will work with you when you provide sufficient lead time to make alternative arrangements.
A: You become eligible for a free meal only after completing a shift of three or more consecutive hours. Due to State and Federal guidelines, the meal must be consumed in your designated dining area and must not be shared with others.
A: Students are paid on a semi-monthly basis with periods beginning on the 2nd and 18th day of the month. Students who have elected direct deposit will be paid on the first working day two weeks following the end of the period worked. For those students that have not signed up for direct deposit, checks will be available for pick up with picture I.D. on the second working day two weeks following the end of the period worked.

A: The entry wage for general student staff is currently $7.35 per hour.
A: NO. Students are hired on a semester basis. To continue employment from semester to semester you must reapply to the unit you wish to work in. You must fill out a new application, have your completed class schedule, and be in good standing with your unit.
A: Yes. Your Unit Manager or Supervisor will work with you to be flexible around your finals schedule. It is not difficult to work out a mutually satisfactory schedule during finals week.
