Meal Plans

New for fall semester 2013 – INTRODUCING Bear Bucks!

Beginning Fall Semester 2013, students on all Meal Plans will have access to our new Bear Bucks Program.  Bear Bucks is a declining balance account offering maximum flexibility for food purchases. New Bear Bucks accounts can be opened with as little as $20!

Features of bear bucks include:

• Accepted at all 14 UDS venues, including the new Galloping Griz food truck. 
• A 30% discount off the cash price to the Food Zoo Dining Room.
• A 10% discount off all purchases at UDS retail venues and the Galloping Griz.
• A 5% premium when you make a minimum deposit of $200 (deposit $200, spend $210!).
• Provides access to meals over breaks (Thanksgiving, Winter Session, and Spring Break).
• Students may add funds to their Bear Bucks account at any time.

University Dining Services Meal Plans:

UDS offers three distinct meal plans designed to meet student dining preferences.  A Meal Plan is the pre-purchase of meals and services for an entire semester. 

• ALL CAMPUS MEAL PLAN:  The most flexible, versatile, and cost effective meal plan available and is accepted at all 14 UDS dining venues and the Galloping Griz food truck through Bear Bucks.  The All Campus Meal Plan provides $61.75 in Weekly Meal Plan Funds and includes $100 in Bear Bucks which is a new meal plan feature. Bear Bucks balances carry over from Fall to Spring Semester when purchasing the same meal plan, but do not carry over from one academic year to the next, unless additional Bear Bucks have been purchased prior to the end of Spring Semester.  Unused Weekly Meal Plan Funds do not carry forward.

• Food Zoo PLUS Meal Plan:  Accepted in the Food Zoo Dining Room for up to three meals per day, and a maximum of 14 meals per week and includes $200 in Bear Bucks for greater campus-wide flexibility. Bear Bucks balances carry over from Fall to Spring Semester when purchasing the same meal plan, but do not carry over from one academic year to the next, unless additional Bear Bucks have been purchased prior to the end of Spring Semester. 

• Food Zoo Meal Plan:  Accepted in the Food Zoo Dining Room only and provides up to 19 meals per week, one for each meal period served.  Monday through Friday students may enter the Food Zoo Dining Room a maximum of three times daily, once during each of the following time periods: 7:30am - 10:45am, 11:00am - 4:45pm, and 5:00pm - 7:30pm.  Weekends and Holidays, students may enter the Food Zoo Dining Room a maximum of two times daily, once during each of the following time periods:  10:30am - 4:45pm and 5:00pm - 7:30pm.
  Unused meals do not carry forward.  The Food Zoo Meal Plan does not come with a Bear Bucks account, however students may open one for as little as $20 and this Bear Bucks account will carry over from semester to semester, and academic year to academic year. 

• The All Campus Meal Plan provide a Weekly Meal Plan Fund designed to ensure that meals can be purchased each week for the entire semester.  Food purchases are deducted from your Weekly Meal Plan Fund and may be used as quickly or as moderately as you choose.  Weekly Meal Plan Funds are reset every Sunday morning; unused Weekly Meal Plan Funds are NOT carried forward from one week to the next.  The Food Zoo PLUS Plan and the Food Zoo Meal Plan counts reset every Sunday morning.  Food Zoo PLUS Meal Plan meal will carry over from one meal period to the next, Food Zoo Meal Plan meals do not carry over from one meal period to the next.   *$3.25 represents food cost only and the difference between the total of the Weekly Meal Plan Funds and the meal plan cost per semester represents the cost of overhead (all non-food expenses like labor, utilities, rent, etc.).

  **The Weekly Meal Plan Fund is based on the academic calendar and is prorated for short weeks (holidays, etc.). Weekly Meal Plan Funds reset every Sunday morning and do not carry over from week to week.

  The Food Zoo cash entrance price is:  Breakfast - $8.25; Lunch - $9.25; Dinner - $10.25

  The All Campus Meal Plan is accepted at both campuses of the Missoula College.

  Students may upgrade their meal plan anytime during the semester.
