"The dignity of the human being is inviolable."
The Montana Constitution, Article 2, Section 4 adopted 1972
Disability Services for Students is The University of Montana's student affairs office which assures program access to the University by students with disabilities. We coordinate and provide reasonable accommodations, advocate for an accessible and hospitable learning environment, and promote self-determination on the part of the students we serve.
Disability Services requires one week's notice for scheduling exams with modifications in our testing rooms. The purpose is to permit us to better manage our testing resources and thus ensure adequate accessible testing facilities for students with disabilities.
If you have questions, please feel free to contact your Disability Services Coordinator or you can link to our test modification policies.
There are two video phones available on campus. Deaf students can reach Disability Services for Students by phone and converse in American Sign Language (ASL) with Lead Interpreter Denise May.
And they can even call her from a public phone in the Mansfield Library at UM.
To call Disability Services with a videophone, use the following numbers:
406-203-0591 for calls from Montana phone numbers
877-890-6935 forcalls from out of state numbers.
