Interpreting and Captioning Services for Campus Events

Disability Services for Students can provide American Sign Language Interpreters and Captionists for campus events at The University of Montana.  This will ensure communication access for all deaf and hard-of-hearing participants.  A timely request is critical to securing services.   A fee will be assessed for these services that are not course related.

Fees

Interpreting Rates: $30 per hour, per interpreter. (Two interpreters may be required for events with multiple speakers or that exceed one hour.)

Captionist Rates: Charges vary from to $80 to $150 per hour depending on the format of the event. (Captioning provides voice-to-text access.)

Service Request Procedure

  1. Complete the Interpreter or Captionist Request Form.
  2. Submit the form to Denise May, Lead Sign Language Interpreter.
