Adapting to the Social Campus

The Adapting to the Social Campus (ASC) is offered by The University of Montana RiteCare Speech, Language, and Hearing Clinic.  ASC is support for people transitioning to the U of M who have autism spectrum disorder, Asperger syndrome, or other social/organizational challenges.

ASC provides:

An opportunity to walk your individualized schedule prior to classes

Weekly time with peers (U of M Juniors or Seniors) to better understand and adapt to the Social Campus.  Some areas include:

  • Organizationo
  • Campus Safety
  • Understanding academic expectations
  • Shared living space
  • Problem solving opportunities
  • Self-Advocacy and when to disclose
