Disability Services for Students is the University of Montana's student affairs office which assures program access to the University by students with disabilities. We coordinate and provide reasonable accommodations, advocate for an accessible and hospitable learning environment, and promote self-determination on the part of the students we serve.

Snow Flies and Construction Continues

After the leaves come down, the snow begins to fly. The first mentions of the "S" word in local weather reports came this year in the second week of October. Still, construction goes on at UM and new projects will start even as Mount Sentinel turns white!

Don't worry, though. UM's Access Map is ready with priority snow routes shown in red, and construction areas in green. Check it out and plan ahead!

Faculty: How to Give Notice to Students with Disabilities

The University’s ADA-504 Team encourages faculty members to inform students of their intent to accommodate them. This notice invites students to initiate the accommodation process in a respectful and effective way.

Three Take NEW Leadership Roles

 In June, three members of Disability Services accepted new leadership roles in the Association on Higher Education and Disability (AHEAD), the professional association for those working in Disability Services at the college and university level.
