Paying with Aid

Your tuition bill is sent via email to your student email account

You can contact Business Services and make other arrangements if you want your bill handled differently.

Financial aid confirmation

If you have a financial aid confirmation on your schedule bill, you are using future credit to pay your tuition. The financial aid office has not received the actual money yet, so we place a temporary confirmation on your account. You can finalize payment with a confirmation from financial aid. Since there is no real money in your account, your student account will show a balance due until the funds arrive.

Business Services does charge interest on any balance due over a period of time. When the actual funds arrive at the school, real payment will be made. It is your responsibility to make sure the actual funds do pay.

Checks from scholarships, private loans, and Higher Education

If you have an outside donor scholarship, pre-approved private loan, or Higher Education (Tribal) check that hasn't arrived at the school, we can provide you with a confirmation for the amount of the check on your bill for payment. Once the check does arrive, the real credit will be applied.

Paying with financial aid

If all your financial aid is on your bill, and it covers the entire amount, you can finalize via CyberBear or turn a copy of the bill in to Business Services. If your financial aid does not cover all the charges, you will need to pay the balance with a check or credit card on CyberBear.

Other payment options exist, including deferred payment. Optional payment plans can be discussed with Business Services.

Financial aid is not on your bill

Once you register for classes, it takes 24 hours for the financial aid to credit your bill. Check CyberBear for financial aid credit the following day. Some issues that stop financial aid and scholarships from crediting your bill include:

  • Not enrolled in 6 or more credits
  • Adding additional credits (you will need to wait another 24 hours)
  • It hasn't been 24 hours
  • Financial aid suspension
  • Financial aid is over-awarded

If your financial aid is not on the bill, you can view your financial aid information on   CyberBear. If you cannot determine why the financial aid isn't crediting, contact the financial aid staff in Griz Central. If you are a student on the College of Technology campus, contact their financial aid office. Arrangements can be made to confirm your aid if your file has been evaluated.

Actual funds are not paid yet

Your actual funds may not be applied if:

  • Your financial aid is not evaluated
  • You didn't sign a Master Promissory Note
  • You need loan entrance counseling
  • You are not enrolled in 6 or more credits
  • Your tuition bill payment isn't finalized
  • You are on financial aid suspension

Finalizing and refunds

Once you finalize your tuition payment, your financial aid will disburse into your student account. If your loan funds have been received at the school and credited to your student account, you may have a refund owed to you. You can view your account on  CyberBear to see if you have a refund. Automatic refunds are generated by Business Services twice a week when school is in session.

Keep us informed of any changes in your status

Inform us of any scholarships, grants, or other outside resources you may receive to help pay for school. Also inform us of any changes in enrollment status (full time to part time, etc.) and maintain an updated mailing address on CyberBear. To ensure as few delays as possible, let us know about anything you think may be relevant to your aid status.
