Griz Card Functions

Your Griz Card should be carried with you whenever you are on campus. It is used for many purposes and to access a wide variety of services provided on and off campus.

Photo Identification & Verification

  • Present your card for check-in at the Curry Health Center
  • Checkout Mansfield Library materials, technology, and study rooms using your Griz Card
  • Receive student prices for UM Entertainment, concert and event tickets
  • Checkout laptops and Yellow Bikes at the UC Source
  • Present your card as photo identification for class exams and special exams, such as the UDWPA
  • Rent gear from Campus Rec's Outdoor Program
  • Receive student discounts at many of Missoula's businesses

Grizzly Athletic Event Access

Access to athletic events is determined by your enrollment status and the type of athletic event.

Full-time Students on Mountain Campus

Full-time students (7 credits or more) taking classes on the mountain campus automatically pay the Athletic Fee ($58.50 per semester) as part of tuition. The Athletic Fee grants the cardholder free tickets to all regular season Grizzly home games. To receive a football ticket, go to The UC Source. Football tickets go on sale 8am the Monday preceding a Saturday game. Your football ticket will be placed on your Griz Card by The UC Source personnel, so when you go to the game you simply swipe your card at the student entrance and get ready to cheer on the Griz! For any other athletic games, such as volleyball, soccer, or basketball, simply swipe your card at the student entrance.

400 Guest Passes for each home football game are available at The Source. Students may receive one guest pass for $10 at the same time they pick up their own student football ticket.

Part-time Students on Mountain Campus

Part-time students (6 credits or less) taking classes on the mountain campus automatically pay the Part-time Athletic Fee ($29.25 per semester) as part of tuition. The Part-time Athletic Fee grants the cardholder free tickets to three regular season Grizzly home football games and all other Grizzly athletic events. A student can upgrade to the Full-time Athletic Fee by requesting it on their Cyberbear Account or by paying the fee in Griz Central at the cashier's desk. To receive a football ticket, go to The UC Source. Football tickets go on sale 8am the Monday preceding a Saturday game. Your football ticket will be placed on your Griz Card by The UC Source personnel, so when you go to the game you simply swipe your card at the student entrance and get ready to cheer on the Griz! For any other athletic games, such as volleyball, soccer, or basketball, simply swipe your card at the student entrance.

COT & MSU Nursing Students

COT and MSU Nursing students must request the Athletic Fee ($58.50 per semester) be added to their Cyberbear Account or pay the fee in Griz Central at the cashier's desk. Once a student has requested and paid the Athletic Fee, their Griz Card will be activated for athletics the next business day as long as they have finalized their Cyberbear Account. The Athletic Fee grants the cardholder free tickets to all regular season Grizzly home football games. To receive a football ticket, go to The UC Source. Football tickets go on sale 8am the Monday preceding a Saturday game. Your football ticket will be placed on your Griz Card by The UC Source personnel, so when you go to the game you simply swipe your card at the student entrance and get ready to cheer on the Griz! For any other athletic games, such as volleyball, soccer, or basketball, simply swipe your card at the student entrance.

Campus Recreation & Grizzly Pool Access

The Griz Card is your key to the University's state-of-the-art fitness facility, one swipe of your Griz Card allows you access to Campus Recreation via turnstiles.

Full-time UM students (7 credits or more) have the $100 Campus Rec fee automatically added to their Cyberbear Account. Campus Recreation automatically activates when you finalize your Cyberbear Account or the first day of classes, whichever comes later.

Part-time UM students (6 credits or less), MSU nursing students, and COT students have the option of requesting the $100 Campus Rec fee. Request the Campus Recreation Fee be added to your Cyberbear Account when you register for classes, or it can be paid in Griz Central at the cashier's desk.

Once the Campus Rec fee is paid, your Griz Card access to Campus Rec will work the following business day or the first day of classes, whichever occurs later.

Dining Services Meal Plans

Your Griz Card holds the balance of your Dining Services meal plan. You can use the meal plans at a number of dining services locations across campus. Please visit the Dining Services website for more information on meal plan options.

UDash, Park & Ride, and Mountain Line Bus Services

Your Griz Card allows you to ride any of the Mountain Line, Park  & Ride, or U-Dash buses at no charge. Just swipe your Griz Card when boarding and your trip is free. Visit the Mountain Line or ASUM Transportation for more information on bus routes and schedules.

UMoney Purchases On and Off Campus

UMoney is a prepaid spending account that allows you to make purchases at participating on and off campus merchants using your Griz Card. There are a wide variety of services and products available for purchase with UMoney. Merchants include: restaurants, coffee and specialty drinks, entertainment and music, florists, gas stations and convenience stores, grocery, hair care, laundry and dry cleaning, pharmacy, and recreation. Plus over 80 snack and beverage vending machines across the UM campuses.

IT Computer Lab GrizPrint

GrizPrint is a convenient and fast way to print in IT Computer Labs using UMoney. Simply deposit UMoney and print to and from various computer labs on campus. The IT website provides detailed instructions on how to use GrizPrint, and you can view a list of GrizPrint locations on the UMoney Merchant Map.

Residence Hall & Other Door Access

Your Griz Card provides you access to your Residence Hall and many of the academic buildings and various labs throughout campus. The magnetic strip on your Griz Card contains specific credentials for the particular buildings and rooms to which you have access. Door access is determined by your housing assignment, the classes in which you are enrolled and other special access such as that required by some employment on campus.
