The Desk Assistant (DA) is a student staff member who assists the community development of the residence hall by providing excellent customer service at the residence hall front desk. Desk Assistants help residents by answering questions from students and guests, checking out temporary access cards and keys, disbursing packages, answering the phone, and providing general customer service for resources provided at the front desks. Please read the Desk Assistant Job Description for more information about this position.
Compensation: This position varies in hours per week and is paid state minimum wage- $7.90 per hour.
DA Application Process
All New Desk Assistant and Returning Desk Assistant candidates must complete an application to be considered for the position. Applications will be accepted at any time, however, most positions are offered in early August for positions beginning in late August and continue for the entire academic year. Additional positions may be filled throughout the academic year as needed.
DA candidates will be interviewed as needed to fill positions. New DA interviews will occur July 7-11 for August openings. Interviews will occur during the year for any open positions throughout the academic year.
DA candidates will be contacted if offered a position. Applications are kept on file for one year and candidates may contact Residence Life at any time if they have questions.

- 2.25 GPA
- Ability to work variable hours, primarily late evening hours
- Possess a general level of maturity and judgement
- Be a full-time student
- Be in good conduct standing with the University
