Supervisory Staff Position

Supervisory StaffThe Supervisory Staff (Head Resident and Assistant Head Resident) are the live-in staff in charge of a residence hall(s) consisting of 350 to 550 students and is directly responsible for the assigned building and staff in conjunction with the Head Resident. They serve as a liaison between the University administration and the residents of the hall; foster an atmosphere for academic, social, cultural and emotional growth in the residence hall by serving as a supervisor and advisor to the residents; assist the resident assistants in enforcement of all University and hall policies; are responsible for the general well-being, community development and a student learning environment in the residence hall. This position is 30 hours per week. Please read the Supervisory Staff Job Description for additional information about the position.

Compensation: Supervisory Staff earn an on-campus room or apartment, meal plan and stipend based on their residence hall placement. For the 2012-2013 academic year new Assistant Head Residents earn $12,800.00.

2013-2014 Supervisor Application Process

Application

All Supervisor candidates must complete an online application to be considered for the position. Both the New Supervisor Application and the Returning Supervisor Application, which closed on January 30, 2013.

Individual Interview

All Supervisor candidates must attend a 30-minute individual interview. These interviews will take place January 31-February 13, 2013. This interview will consist of a question and answer session to understand your interest in the position and related experience.

Presentation

All new Supervisor candidates must do a presentation as a part of the interview process. These presentations will take place January 31-February 13, 2013. The prompt will be available when you schedule your interview times.

Hiring Notification

All Supervisor candidates will be notified of their hiring status on February 15, 2013.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 2.25 GPA
  • Be in good conduct standing with the University
  • Be a full-time student
  • Interest in working with people
  • Interest in leadership, supervising and personnel management
  • Residence Life experience preferred

January 31- February 13, 2013- Individual Interviews and Presentations

February 15, 2013- Hiring notifications will be sent to all candidates

July 29, 2013- Contract begins for 2013-2014 Supervisory Staff
