International Students

International Students must make your own arrangements for housing.  Arrangements are not made by various international exchange programs on campus.  Even though you have applied for admission and been accepted by the University as a general student or into one of the academic programs that does not mean that housing arrangements have been made on your behalf.

There are many housing choices depending upon your needs and lifestyle. However, if you are a freshmen level student with less then 30 credits on your transcript you fall within the University's residency requirements and are required to live in the residence halls on campus.

1-- campus housing in the residence halls. A March 1st deadline in is place for special housing requests. Any applications received after March 1 will be assigned to space available at that time. The Residence Halls fill up very early each year and it gets very difficult to meet the specific requests of applicants after March 1.

2-- campus housing at University Villages are unfurnished apartment-style units for single parents, families and single graduate and upper-level students.

3-- off campus housing, not affiliated with the University, you may use your own sources of information. The local newspaper "The Missoulian", has a rental section. Go to http://www.missoulian.com and select the Classified Section, then select the Rental section. The University also maintains a list of private rentals which is available at http://www.umt.edu/uc and then chose the off-campus housing link. All arrangement made for off campus housing are strictly between you and the landlord. All payments and arrangements must be made directly by you with the landlord.
