Special Accommodations, Disability or Access Needs

Housing for disabled students is available in various buildings depending upon required special needs of the individual student. Space for mobility-impaired individuals is limited to Pantzer, Miller, Aber and Jesse Halls and University Villages. The following information is needed in order for our staff to select the best building/room combination and have that room ready upon the individual's arrival:

  • Describe the disability
  • Is a wheel chair used (electric or manual)?
  • Physical floor space needs within room
  • Is a special medical bed required? If so, what are the measurements?
  • Is a lift or any other equipment needed in room?
  • Special need for bathtub or shower
  • Ability to open doors
  • Ability to operate elevators
  • Special access needs for care givers
  • Is a service animal used?
  • Any special privacy needs which would preclude use of a communal bathroom
  • Need for special door bell or signaling devices
