Special Accommodations, Disability or Access Needs

Housing for students with disabilities is available in various buildings depending upon required needs of the individual student. Space for individuals with limited mobility is limited to Pantzer, Miller, Aber and Jesse Halls, Lewis and Clark Village, and University Villages. The following information is needed in order for our staff to select the best building/room combination and have that room ready upon the individual's arrival:

  • Describe the disability
  • Is a wheel chair used (electric or manual)?
  • Physical floor space needs within room
  • Is a medical bed required? If so, what are the measurements?
  • Is a lift or any other equipment needed in room?
  • Need for accessible bathtub or shower
  • Ability to open doors
  • Ability to operate elevators
  • Access needs for care givers
  • Is a service animal used?
  • Any privacy needs which would preclude use of a communal bathroom
  • Need for special door bell or signaling devices
