Lewis & Clark Village > Summer Special Lease Arrangement
 Lewis and Clark Village Residents

Do you have to leave Missoula for the summer –
but don’t want to move out of your apartment?

Under special lease arrangements you may leave your belongings in your apartment (won’t have to move one thing), turn in your key and access card and pay less then one-half the price. If you are leaving for a summer job and coming back for the next academic year you may keep your current apartment if you sign a lease extending your stay through at least the end of next Fall Semester. You may take advantage of this special lease arrangement only if you are going to be out of the Missoula area for a minimum of 60 consecutive days. For example, a two week vacation does not qualify for the special rental rate.

In other words, an unoccupied space will cost $7.00 per day, per person, or $735.00 for the summer (May 16, 2009 to Aug 28, 2009) for the time that you are not occupying your apartment (exact amount will be prorated on a daily basis, based on possession of the key and access card). The Summer special will be billed to your student account for the entire summer.   We are not able to do monthly billing for the Summer Special.  You can avoid additional late fees and interest assessments by paying for your summer rent in advance.

All arrangements for keeping the apartment (unoccupied) through the summer must be made no later then April 1. Don’t forget if you are moving out completely and no longer want to keep the apartment you must turn in a Vacate Notice providing at least 60 days notice.

YES, I am interested in keeping my apartment for the summer as unoccupied and will extend my lease arrangement through at least Fall Semester. I understand that if I leave before the end of next Fall Semester, I will still be responsible for the rent through ________________.

I understand that I will have limited access to my apartment during this period. If I need to retrieve items, I will have to make arrangements with office staff to be accompanied and have the door open for a few minutes.

Expected date I will leave______________________ Expected Date of Return_________________. I understand that I will need to return my keys in the Summer Key Envelope – special lease option. The date keys are received at the office will be the date used to begin assessment of the reduced rent charge. Regular rental rates will resume on the day I return to Missoula and pick up my keys.
