Waiving Student Insurance

Insurance Requirements Policy at UM-Missoula
All students enrolled for 1or more state supported or self-supported credit(s) are eligible for the student insurance plan. Students in Distance Learning programs are not eligible for the student insurance plan. 

International students on non-immigrant visas (F, J, etc) must provide written proof of insurance to the Student Insurance Office (Curry Health Center, room 111)by the 15th class day in order to waive insurance.

NO INSURANCE PREMIUM WAIVERS/REFUNDS WILL BE GRANTED AFTER THE 15TH CLASS DAY OF THE SEMESTER.
 
 
To waive the Student Blue Cross Blue Shield Insurance, you must have major medical insurance coverage.

About waivers:

  •       You may waive student insurance using Cyberbear (only during initial registration) or completing an insurance waiver form at the Student Insurance Office (Curry Health Center, room 111).
  •         A waiver is only valid for one term only. You must waive the insuranceeach term, excluding summer.
  •         By selecting and submitting the 'Waive Blue Cross Insurance' option on Cyberbear (or on waiver forms), you are declaring that you have other major medical insurance and am eligible to waive the Blue Cross Blue Shield Student Insurance Plan. 

 Waivers must be completed during the first three weeks of classes Autumn and Spring semesters.
