College Level Examination Program (CLEP)

University Policy:

The University of Montana-Missoula awards college credit to undergraduate degree students on the basis of official score reports from the College Level Examination Program of the College Board. Official score reports may be obtained from CLEP Transcript Service, PO Box 6600, Princeton, NJ 08541-6600.

This policy was developed in consultation with academic departments at The University of Montana-Missoula. Credits awarded are assigned the grade of CR* (Credit). Exams that do not meet the minimum score are not posted on the University of Montana transcript. Duplicate credit will be allowed only in accordance with course descriptions in The University of Montana-Missoula catalog.

Registration:

CLEP exams are offered on computer only and space is limited at times. You may register by contacting the University of Montana’s Testing Services at 406-243-2175 to schedule an appointment.

Cost:

The cost to purchase a CLEP exam is currently $80. Testing Services charges a $25 proctoring fee for each exam.

The University of Montana, Lommasson Center Suite154, Testing Services.

Important Information:

• Candidates must bring a valid state-issue I.D.
• Candidates may not repeat a CLEP exam of the same title within six months. Scores of exams repeated earlier than six months will be canceled and test fees forfeited.
