Dantes Subject Standardized Test (DDSTs)
General Information:
The DANTES Subject Standardized Tests (DDSTs) enable students to obtain college credit for what they have learned on the job, through self-study, personal interest, or correspondence courses, or by any other means. It is used by colleges and universities to award college credit to students who demonstrate that they know as much as students who have completed an equivalent college course. It is a cost-efficient, time-saving way for students to use their knowledge to accomplish their educational goals.
Both DANTES (and CLEP) are ETS-developed testing programs used for granting credit for previously acquired college- level knowledge. The two programs can be considered complimentary because each of them provides credit-by-examination testing on subjects not covered by the other.
The framework for DANTES testing differs, however, from that of CLEP Subject Exams:
Special Pilot Program for ALL Military Reservists in Montana. Earn college credits through testing at a very reasonable cost.
